We love to recognize all of the amazing things Spring Branch ISD PTAs accomplish every year. All SBISD CPTA PTAs that are eligible may apply for our annual Council Awards. Every PTA is encouraged to apply to every single category that they are eligible for! We want to hear about all of your great ideas and service.
Outstanding Communications –
This award is given to one elementary PTA and one secondary PTA with the most outstanding and effective communication with its members and community. The communications should convey information about a program or programs established by the PTA that encourage and strengthen member and parent involvement, that inform members of clearly defined goals and priorities, and that inform and work with members, parents, and the community on those goals and priorities.
REMEMBER:
- Types of communication can include, but are not limited to, paper newsletters, e-blasts, marquees, posters/banners, social media, and websites.
- Entries should include samples of your communications, including screenshots of e-blasts or newsletters and photos of banners/posters/marquees (files should be uploaded in the space available on the website form at the time of submission). Submit samples of your best communications — not every poster or e-blast created throughout the year. All entries must include communications created during the current school year.
Outstanding Cultural Arts Program –
This award is given to one elementary PTA and one secondary PTA with the most outstanding Cultural Arts program. Whether it is using PTA volunteers to help teachers explore different cultures or a PTA-provided performing arts group that educates children, it will qualify as a Cultural Arts program.
REMEMBER:
- Tell us about your school’s approach to introducing students to Cultural Arts. Please include the programs’ beginning and ending dates and include an evaluation of how your program was received by participants.
- You can share materials including photos, brochures, flyers, etc. to illustrate your program.
- Your online entry should include 500-1000 words and may have up to 5 files uploaded for supporting documentation.
- All files must be submitted with your online entry.
- All entries must include communications created during the current school year.
Outstanding Drug/Alcohol Program –
This award is given to the PTA with the most outstanding local drug and alcohol education program. A regular parent education program, special meeting for parents and students, or a student-focused program/event is eligible. The program must deal with one or all of the following subjects: drug abuse (causes, effects, solutions); alcohol abuse (causes, effects, solutions); or parent peer group formation.

- Describe your program, including results and how it was received by the participants. You can share materials including photos, brochures, flyers, etc. to illustrate your program.
- Your online entry should include 500-1000 words and may have up to 5 files uploaded for supporting documentation.
- All files must be submitted with your online entry.
- All entries must include communications created during the current school year.
Outstanding Membership Campaign –
This award is given to the PTA with the most outstanding membership campaign.
REMEMBER:
- Tell us about your school’s approach to recruiting PTA members this year. Did you send home a membership form at the beginning of the year with every student? Promote PTA in a newsletter to families? Use social media? Website? Encourage participation with a bulletin board at the beginning of the school year? Sign up members at PTA meetings/programs held at the school? Any and all of these are examples of a membership campaign.

Outstanding Parent Education Program –
This award is given to the PTA with the most successful Parent Education Program. All aspects of the program are considered, including a list of topics, speakers and their qualifications, and parent involvement. The report should include results – an evaluation of how your program was received by participants.
REMEMBER:
- Describe all aspects of the program including a list of topics, speakers and their qualifications, and parent involvement. The report should include results – an evaluation of how your program was received by participants.
- You may include other materials including brochures, flyers, handbooks, etc. A collage format may be used to save space.
- Your online entry should include 500-1000 words and may have up to 10 files uploaded for supporting documentation.
- All files must be submitted with your online entry.

Outstanding Sister School Solution Partnership –
This award is given to the PTA with the most outstanding Sister School Solution program, a partnership between two or more schools with the common goal of providing the best education possible for all students involved. Considerations will include the collaboration between schools, the unique relationships, and how the program meets the needs of each school.
REMEMBER:
- Tell us about your program, including the unique relationships, your collaboration and how it meets the needs of each school. Details should include results – an evaluation of how your program was received by participants.
- Your submission should be between 500-1000 words and may include up to 3 additional uploaded files (pictures, graphs, survey and/or other reporting)
- All files must be submitted with your online entry.
- All entries must include communications created during the current school year.
